Givens Estates, Inc., in partnership with WeaverCooke Construction, is assisting in the bid/recruiting process for a new project to be located in South Asheville.

Givens Gerber Park, LLC (Owner) was awarded federal HOME funds for the purpose of developing Phase I of Givens Gerber Park Apartments – A Senior Living Community, to be located on 40 Gerber Road in Asheville, NC.  WeaverCooke Construction LLC will serve as the Prime General Contractor. To comply with the requirements of Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968 as amended, bids to perform work on the 120 unit senior rental community will be accepted at the office of:

Bids for site development, concrete and masonry, framing, siding, roofing, insulation, interior carpentry, elevator, painting, cabinetry, windows and doors, floor coverings, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, signage, landscaping, and cleaning will be needed.

We are especially interested in making sure that sub-contractors and owners of Section 3 and/or Minority and Women's Business Enterprises who live and or have their businesses located in MSA know about the possible employment opportunities this project will offer. Sub-contractors submitting bids should indicate if they are a Section 3 and/or MWBE business and if they are located in MSA.

All sub-contractors and businesses must furnish proof of liability and workers compensation coverage prior to contract award. Additionally, sub-contractors must comply with the Davis Bacon Act, the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, the Copeland Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
