Givens
Estates United Methodist Retirement Community promotes and encourages
wellness and health maintenance among all residents through a variety
of programs and support services. The health center serves residents
in need of continuous professional care.
The goal of Givens Health Center is to provide necessary support services
for residents while encouraging an appropriate level of independence
in daily living for each resident. Personal dignity and worth are
at the heart of health care services at Givens Estates. The Givens
Health Center is open to residents of Givens Estates and to the public.
Residents are admitted on orders of their physicians.
 Givens Health
Center is a new residential facility which features carpeted rooms
and hallways, high ceilings, picture windows and more. With spectacular
views of the mountains and cove, the Givens Health Center occupies
a prominent place on the Givens campus. Semi-private rooms have been
designed to provide each resident with a private window and individual
temperature control. Lovely enclosed garden areas are accessible to
the residents of Sales and Starnes wings and extensive gardens surround
the building.
Starnes Care Wing
Starnes Care Wing for Memory Support has been specifically designed
to accommodate 26 residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other
memory impairment. Licensed Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants
help Starnes residents with medications, personal hygiene and daily
tasks. Special Programming is designed to provide residents with opportunities
for meaningful daily activities. Three daily meals, laundry, housekeeping
and maintenance services are provided.
Sales Nursing Wing
Sales Nursing Wing has 58 Medicare / Medicaid approved skilled nursing
beds. Licenses Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants provide 24-hour
nursing care. In addition, the following are provided:
- Medication
administration
- Assistance
with the activities of daily living
- Specialized
rehabilitation services (Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapy)
- Services
and programs tailored for individual needs
- Three
meals daily
- Laundry,
housekeeping and maintenance services
Givens
Health Center introduces children, pets and plants into the facility
under controlled conditions. It has been established that such amenities
have a positive effect on residents in nursing communities.
Givens Health Center is a smoke-free facility.
