Campus Nursing / Home Care / Support Services
Givens Estates is committed to working cooperatively with
all residents given their unique situations. The goal is to design
an individual support program to assist each resident in living independently
as long as possible.
Campus Nursing:
Campus Nursing Service is provided by a Licensed Nurse, available
5 days a week (Monday-Friday) for hospitalization follow-up, non-emergency
illness visits, & coordination of Home Care Services.
Clinic:
A free clinic is available seven days a week from 1:00p.m.
- 2:00p.m., offering services such as blood pressure monitoring, injections,
treatments for minor injuries and brief consultations.
Home Care Program:
A licensed Home Care Program is available for residents who
need minimal assistance (less than two hours per day) with activities
of daily living such as bathing, dressing, laundry, light meal preparation
and assistance with medication management. There is a fee for this
service which is provided by Certified Nursing Assistants and coordinated
by a Licensed Nurse. Fees are added to the resident’s monthly
statement. Assessments and care plans are made and reviewed quarterly
in coordination with the Licensed Nurse, the Registered Nurse and
the resident’s Physician. As needs increase, home care may no
longer be appropriate and a higher level of care may be necessary.
The Home Care Program may also be used to provide respite for care
givers and spouses and to supplement Hospice services.
Transportation Services:
A facility-operated taxi is available to residents for health-related
appointments and other transportation needs. Residents are billed
on a destination basis. Fees are added to the monthly bill. Transportation
can be scheduled Monday – Friday, should be arranged at least
24 hours in advance and will be accepted months in advance. A resident
must be able to enter and exit the taxi with standby assistance, independently
maneuver into the office and call for return transportation. Home
Care is available, with prior notice, to assist residents unable to
meet these criteria.
