This is a Full-time, 36 hour per week position with the opportunity for additional hours and collaboration with other department needs. This position is responsible for initiating, planning, developing, organizing, coordinating, and presenting clinical education programs for Givens Estates clinical staff and non-clinical staff working in clinical areas. Programs will be geared toward staff clinical education that will assist with maintaining compliance with all current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the facility. This education would include the nursing department orientation for new hires and completion of skills validations with staff. This position will also serve as the community Infection Preventionist. It is crucial that this candidate be willing to stay educated on Infection Control principles and take the lead as it relates to the SNF certification regulations. Additionally the Clinical Educator will participate in Quality Assurance activities.
Preferred candidate must have exceptional communication skills, be an energetic team player, self-starter and able to manage multiple tasks with little to no supervision; must be a licensed Nurse in the state of North Carolina and current CPR certification. Preferred candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in geriatric/long term care and a BSN would be a plus. The ideal candidate will be flexible with their scheduling based on the needs of the facility. Additionally, individuals with current SPICE training and CPR instructor certification are highly desirable.
